Independence Day



Independence Day is a national holiday in India celebrated on August 15 every year. Independence Day is the end of British rule in 1947 (as a result of the Indian Independence Act on 18 July of that year) and the establishment of a free and independent Indian state. At the same time, 14 - 15 August 1947 at midnight is the anniversary of the division of the subcontinent into two states, India and Pakistan. (Pakistan celebrates Independence Day on August 14.)

Independence Day in is celebrated as a festival in India. Notably, the prime minister visits the Red Fort monument for a flag-raising ceremony and delivers a  address that is broadcast nationwide. Other traditional events include flying kites and wearing the tricolor and also by uploading pictures with tiranga and uploading that on harghartiranga.

The East India Company ruled India for 100 years, until it was replaced by direct British rule (commonly known as British rule) after the Indian Rebellion of 1857-58. The Indian independence movement began during the First World War, led by Mohandas K. Gandhi, who fought for a peaceful and non-violent British rule.
Independence Day is celebrated across India by hoisting the flag, working and singing the Indian national anthem. In addition, the provincial capital has many cultural traditions.
Members of the army and police joined the parade after the Prime Minister attended the flag-raising ceremony at the historic Red Fort in Old Delhi. The Prime Minister addressed the nation on television, reviewing India's great achievements over the past year and summarizing the challenges and goals for the future. Kite flying has also become a Merdeka tradition, with kites of all sizes, shapes and colors filling the sky. It also continues to be set up over the weekend even though government offices in New Delhi are closed to celebrate the day.
